London & Surrey Wedding Photography – Contemporary Fine Art Wedding Albums
As a London & Surrey Wedding Photography business, one of the best things I love to do is create lasting memories. Memories that look and feel every time you take out a Fine Art album from it packaging.
A few weeks ago, I finally got delivery of my new sample albums from Folio. Folio make the finest Fine Art albums right here in the UK and are handcrafted at each stage of the process. Now, I have been toying with the idea of finding new wedding album suppliers for a few months and once the final wedding of 2016 was finished I decided it was time to invest in new samples and go with the popular company Folio. As a Fine Art Wedding supplier in London & Surrey, I wanted someone whose style fitted into my brand and knew how important an investment of a wedding album is to a couple.
When I am speaking to couples about Fine Art Wedding Albums, I always explain the comparison between images on your screen to having them on print, and in my opinion their isn’t any. It is great having the ability to share with family and friends with a touch of a button on a computer, but seeing your images on fine paper in a leather or linen bound album is so magical and a special feeling.
Have a look at my recent video on my new wedding sample albums and if you would like to discuss more about ordering an album, then please contact me.
Kristina & Tony’s La Palais Paysan Marrakech Morocco Wedding
“Hi Jay, you know the Marrakech Morocco Wedding I was talking about, how do you fancy shooting it with me?” This was the silly question I was asked by my good friend and partner in crime, Anesta Broad (sorry Anesta).
For me, this was a no-brainer. I have been to Marrakech before on holiday and fell in love with it straight away, so to be asked to do my job in this incredible place, I had to accept straight away.
Kristina & Tony’s Wedding was held in a remote location just outside Marrakech; the stunning La Palais Paysan Hotel, with the Atlas Mountains as a backdrop, was 5 star beauty with all the trimmings and with Morocco Wedding planning company La Boutique Souk helping to create their dream wedding, it was set up to be an amazing weekend.
With close family & friends, who travelled from Essex and the Caribbean, the wedding was a beautiful affair. The wedding ceremony was held on the lawn outside in the late afternoon sun, then the reception moved to a poolside set-up before they partied late into the night. The party didn’t stop there with a Pool Party the next day with the beautiful weather making the hangovers not so bad.
I hate this cliché, but it was one of the best weddings I have had the pleasure to photograph. Thank you Anesta for the invite, it was great being your wingman again and can’t wait for another adventure soon. Thanks to Kristina & Tony, from the first minute I arrived – to the late night drinks the next day – you made me feel so welcome and part of the wedding which I will never forget.
Anyway, I will let the images tell the story of the day xxx
Sophie & Will’s Ballnatray Estate, Cork Ireland Wedding
I’ve being thinking of words that best describe Sophie & Will’s Cork Ireland Wedding. But before I do that, I will begin with a massive thank you to Amaris & Chad who made up the #mrts team (I came up with that name). It was an amazing four days of shooting at Ballynatray Estate on the outskirts of Cork and Waterford in Ireland. The guests at the wedding were so surprised that we had never worked together and that the three of us literally lived thousand miles from each other. We just flowed; knew where each other were in terms of taking shots, trusted and knew that each person would capture everything that was special on the day.
But it was more than us three, it was about the Sophie & Will and the rest of the wedding party over those days. From Day 1 to the last day, it was all about making us feel welcome. It was all about sharing in the joyous occasion whilst doing our job, and that is why I always say that it is probably the best job in the world for me. I just love working with couples, families and friends like this.
So what about the wedding day? Well, it started early and ended very late!! But not for one minute did I mind. My day started with the Groom and his Groom’s men at the Wood Cottage, where it was a pleasantly chilled and relaxed time. I would like to say that was the theme of the day, but I would be lying. This was calm before the storm, and in a good way. We laughed, we cried, we laughed some more and just generally had an incredible time. And I am just talking about the wedding day.
I will let the images tell the rest of the story…
What was it about Sophie & Lee’s Surrey Fine Art wedding that made it one of the most special I have photographed? I believe it was that from the first time I spoke to Sophie, she was all about the photos. When a couple come to me and they talk about how important their photographs are and how much they want captured, I know that we are going to be a perfect fit.
After the initial chat to discuss their wedding ceremony at The Mansion in Leatherhead, Surrey, and then their reception at a converted barn in the village of West Horsley, Surrey, we met up at Newland Corner, just outside Guildford, Surrey for their Engagement Shoot which you can have a look at here. As you can see from the post, we hit it off straight away.
It was an early start at Sophie & Lee’s home in the lovely little village of Bramley, near Guildford, for bridal prep. It was a gorgeous morning and when I arrived to start documenting the day, I knew it was going to be a wonderful day. After the ceremony at The Mansion, Leatherhead, we moved to a quaint little pub, with its converted barn in the village of West Horsley, Surrey for their reception. I can truly say I had a great time, everyone was full of laughter, happiness and genuine love for the special couple. From the reaction and review from the couple; and also their friends & family, I definitely captured that and I believe you will see it also in the pictures below…
Beautiful scenery of The Lake District from my iPhone 6S
So a couple of weekends ago, if you don’t know, I made my first ever trip to The Lake District. I was there to photograph a wedding of Claire & JJ with one of the most talented wedding photographer of his generation, Alex Beckett of Alex Beckett Photography. If you haven’t checked his work out yet, make sure you do after looking at mine 😉
Anyway, enough about Alex, back to my trip to gorgeous county of Cumbria.
I cannot speak enough about how amazing this part of the country is; the stunning rolling hills, the beautiful lakes and the peaceful way of life was just breathtaking and something I hope my personal and work life will take me back in the near future.
I thought I would share some of my images I took on my phone of the scenery and hopefully I will share some of my images from the wedding.
All images were taken on iPhone 6S and edited in Adobe Lightroom
Winter might not be coming, but this Bridal Shoot will get you in the mood for the new series of Game of Thrones
Depending on how much you are fan of Game of Thrones you have only have wait a few hours or just under 24 hours before watching the most anticipated new series of this thrilling TV Show. The HBO series has everything that makes it one of the best shows made for TV, in my mind and quite a few others, I believe.
So it was fitting that the very popular wedding blog, “Want That Wedding”, decided to share a Bridal shoot that I was honoured to plan and photographed last summer. I won’t go into too much details as Sonia Collett from Want That Wedding wrote up a great piece, and you can also read what Erin Balfour the styling co-ordinator & joint planner of this Bridal shoot and myself had to say about planning it.
Please click on the link, even if you are not a Game of Thrones fan, because you will love it. From the stunning dresses provided by Heart Aflutter Bridal, the amazing creative hair styling from Love Hair by Louise to the breathtaking cake from French made. All this set-up in the spectacular venue of Blackfriars in Gloucester.
Just a few images from the day, but more on the blog from Want That Wedding.

What a great wedding;
A few months ago Terry got in touch with me asking if I was free to shoot his and Rachael’s big day. Without hesitation I said yes.
I have known Rachael & Terry for over 10 years now, since both our sons have played in the same football team or against each other over the years.
After being together for 20 years and three children later, they decided it was the right time to tie the knot.
So over a week ago, Rachael & Terry got married.
It was such a beautiful day at Farleigh Golf Club with the weather playing ball after a few days of torrential rain. With family and friends joining in the celebration, it was truly a great wedding…
I thought it would be great to show a sneak peek of the wonderful day.
